Hollywood and Gay Presentation

NOTE: I don't like censorship but I don't promote hate. This post was deleted and put back up because it was the only way I could remove a commenter's name. I will not direct anyone to a site that I think is harmful. Anyone telling someone they will go to hell for loving is not promoting God in Heaven.

I heard Sean Penn's 2009 Oscar speech while watching The Rachel Maddow Show. If you didn't see Penn and Dustin Lance Black speak check out the video bar below(it's labelled). The people that Penn spoke of outside the event as they drove up was probably not shown. Another hollywood star who is not gay spoke up for equal rights. I read an article about the best actress and actor with Penn getting maybe three or four lines. There was no real mention of his speech except to say that he made a few jokes. As that writer did, some people refuse to acknowledge gay issues. I read an article where an actor in the Milk movie made a point of saying he didn't like kissing Penn. Hmm, I don't like kissing men either except in the usual hello and goodbye way.
About a couple of weeks ago, I saw a bio on actor Will Smith. In the movie Six Degrees of Separation, he played a gay man pretending to be the son of Sydney Portier. There was a scene where he was kissing a man but it really wasn't a kiss, just the camera angle made it appear so. Smith said if he had the chance to do it again, he would kiss the guy. I think now that he is a man secure with his own sexuality and have been around real gay people, he has matured pass the junk he has heard about homosexuals.

I would like to see a hollywood "lesbian" movie/tv show with real lesbians. I just laughed and shook my head when I read that on the L-Word, the hetero-actresses had to be told how to make-out with a woman. My first thought was that making-out with a woman would be natural. But thinking back to my brief encounters with males, I was awkward when a guy kissed or tried to touch me. In the movie But I'm a Cheerleader when the girl is so NOT into her boyfriend who was kissing her in the car, reminded me of my boyfriend kissing me and I was so not into it.

The Agenda-Civil Rights

Support for the LGBT Community: While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples. ... young & old, rich & poor, democrat & republican, black white hispanic asian native american gay straight disable and not disable ... we are and always will be the United States of America. --Barack Obama, (More)
