THE RACE

I'm tired -- so tired
My head aches -- I'm wired
I've been running a race I can't win
The day I stop is the day I give in
I have two voices telling me what to do
I've been listening to the one with the halo
Which means I'm running solo
And it's hard
The other -- the one with the horns
Ain't playing fair
Upon my feet he placed corns
Oh he's making it so hard to run
He enticingly whispers
It's time to have fun
Temptation smells sweet & has long legs
On my shoulder he croons & begs
Feed your hunger -- take your first
Give me your soul -- quench your thirst
I shake my head & keep moving
The flesh is weak I keep disproving
For now
The day I stop
My true journey will begin
Will my angel ascend?

NOTE: For females, sex is suppose to be put off until we marry. And wanting to 'date' a female is suppose to be totally taboo. So one voice says don't, while the other says do. The brain says don't, while the body says do. And until we are adult enough to deal with the consequences of our actions, then we shouldn't do things that we are not comfortable with within ourselves. The Devil is a deceiver. He doesn't want us to be happy or to love. So when the voice says 'give me your soul -- quench your thirst', that's not truth. Loving someone is the opposit of what the Devil wants, because he can only be powerful when we are unhappy. I decide who gets my soul.

NOTICE BOARD

Hi SPT readers. I haven't posted anything new in several months. I don't want to post about political issues so until I'm inspired with something new or finish a story ....

Feel free to post comments about something you have read at SPT because I do like hearing from my readers even if it is just a hello. I don't put up my email address because I already get mail from people trying to sell me Viagra which goes straight to the Junk box. :) I do receive notification when someone has made a comment at SPT and I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you for visiting. -S

The Agenda-Civil Rights

Support for the LGBT Community: While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples. ... young & old, rich & poor, democrat & republican, black white hispanic asian native american gay straight disable and not disable ... we are and always will be the United States of America. --Barack Obama, (More)
