Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett

A cousin called to see if I had heard that Michael Jackson had died. Turning to a MSNBC, the report was that Michael was in a coma. Before the official report was released, there were reports out that he had died. Michael was reportedly taken from his home by ambulance to UCLA medical center about six miles away, having had cardiac arrest. Someone else called to see if I had heard the news. Finally it was confirmed that Michael Jackson had died at the age of 50.
Condolences to the Jackson family. Rest in peace Mike.

I have to add this part because I was a Charlie's Angels fan. Farrah Fawcett also died today at the age of 62. She had cancer. Condolences to her family. Rest in peace Farrah/Jill.

Whew! What a day.

The Agenda-Civil Rights

Support for the LGBT Community: While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples. ... young & old, rich & poor, democrat & republican, black white hispanic asian native american gay straight disable and not disable ... we are and always will be the United States of America. --Barack Obama, (More)
