President Obama practiced as a civil rights attorney and taught Constitutional Law before becoming a Senator. In his inauguration address to America and the world he spoke of equality:"The God given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness."
This new President knows that his belief in God does not conflict with the laws of the U.S. Constitution which state that all men are created equal by the creator.
Under federal law, before it was corrupted by the former administration, homosexuals had the civil right to get legally married to each other.
President Obama spoke of integrity and honor, and the rules of law. Perhaps this new President will make the United States Constitution mean something once again, and even more than it ever did. It's time for the document penned so long ago, to actually move toward representing all Americans, not just White America or religious America or heterosexual America but every American citizen.
So far, he is making things right. I hope he continues to go all the way, for all of us.
